Days after this book first appeared, the publisher, Lulu, suddenly noticed they had handled illustrated furry porn and immediately destroyed most of the print run, creating an instant collector's item. Thanks to author Roland Guiscard's persistence, a second publisher, CreateSpace, has now re-released the novel, which is not your typical furry porn story. It's a tale of control, coercion, and manipulative sex that often blurs the boundary between barely consensual and outright rape.

It's also a timely depiction of the end of the old porn industry and its studio system, an economic anachronism in the days of unlimited internet access. It's the old star system that the novel's villain, Cockzilla, tries to bleed dry, but by the end of the story, nearly all the characters have come face to face with the limitations of a career in porn, and the reality of the porn star's short sell-by date. It's also true that most of the characters are far from admirable, but Roland has chosen to depict the flawed reality most of us encounter every day, with its examples of selfishness, dissembling, indecisiveness, apathy, and self-delusion. Cockzilla, the moral equivalent of a toilet that won't flush, isn't even the most repulsive character in the novel; that distinction belongs to a sex-trafficking mobster to whom people are, literally, property.

Is all of this really erotic? If you like your sex with a heavy dose of power and control, yes. If you're into something more subtle...well, it's still a well-told story. GSP's b&w illustrations follow erotica's golden rule: bigger is better.

I personally thought it was an overall good book. If you have a furry fetish this is a great book. The characters aren't that well developed just fyi but for porn it's good and not lacking. It's worth the money.

Born in Dresden in 1932, Gerhard Richter studied wall-painting at the socialist Dresdner Akademie, before settling in Dusseldorf in 1961. It was here that he began painting from photographic sources, a method which by his own admission allowed him to make a stand against the academies and the oppressive prototypes of the time, from which he had to free himself to find his own innovative creative style. Central to his work is a strong set of values and ideas which throughout his career he has expressed in notes and writings. In these texts he views his work and his surroundings, reflecting on the spiritual basis of his paintings, on his own role as artist, and on the nature of art itself. This book presents a selection of these writings, accompanied by illustrations of pictures from both private collections and from the studio.

important questions regarding the practice of painting

Hard to explain why artists need this book without sounding pretentious. Richter questions not only the conventions of art, but his own decisions and intentions. Sometimes he contradicts his younger self. And he's fine with that. The book is at once unsettling and comforting. Anyway, one more book I don't lend out.
(On another level, it's a lively read as an autobiography of sorts: The insistently radical young artist gradually matures into the quietly subversive elder statesman.)

Essential for the Serious Painter

An astoundingly philosophical book concerning painting. Richter's entries reveal a depth to his practice seldom articulated so profoundly by a visual artist. I think this book is an essential read to people seriously engaged in the practice of painting. Not a light read, but extremely thought provoking and engaging.

The best book on Environmental Graphic Design in 25 Years

25 years ago John Follis published the last great book on environmental graphic design. This book is an update and improvement. The book starts with a clear and simple premise that underlies environmental graphics, a pyramid made of three parts (Graphics, hardware, information) The pyramid neatly divides the book into clear areas. Each section literally throws in the kitchen sink, with information on research, codes, guidelines and examples. Even more important are the picture examples. Many designers may come away disappointed if they are expecting a picture book, but the examples (A mix of B+W and color pictures) links closely to the text and lends weight to the content. This is a serious resource book for designers interested in reaching a higher level of design rigor.

A great up to date resource for everything having to do with environmental graphics. I see this as a valuable tool for design and architectural businesses as well as real estate developers. It is laid out like a step by step guide to take you through the entire process. The only thing that I found missing was how to come up with the great creative ideas that were featured in the color plates in the book - can we use them?

essential resource

Excellent overview of the CA code. You should be aware that this does not cover the plumbing code. Also, the CA code has been through many changes recently, and the code check books can't hope to keep up completely. The complete code is available online from IAPMO, and is clear and readable. You need to download it to view it, but you can do so one chapter at a time.

Good book but missing digital content

Just from reading the first few chapters I can tell this will be a lot easier to read than the Cisco Press/Odom books. Not that there is anything wrong with those books. They're great informative books they're just not for everyone. I like Lammle's writing style and understand his illustrations well. I would often get lost in the Cisco Press books. There was so much information that I lost the point at times. I don't get that vibe from this book. I really hope to get my CCNA soon and I hope to do it with this book! Thanks Todd!

Be forewarned, as of 10/9, ALL the content promised for the book IS NOT available yet. The code you get in the email doesn't work. This doesn't affect my overall rating of the book. The book is so far awesome. However, I'm an eBook kind of guy and would prefer that over printed page right now.

Almost had a fit!

I purchased the deluxe edition for the sole purpose of having access to the eBook. After following the steps to setup an account with Wiley, I thought an eBook wan't available, even though on the back of the book it specifically states "Free eBook versions of the CCNA Routing and Switching Complete Deluxe Study Guide in multiple file formats." I gave Wiley a call just to confirm I was not seeing something on my end. The support person I spoke with was great and told me I had to first create a flashcard set, then click on the i in the upper right corner of the screen, followed by copying and pasting the link for the eBook into the address bar to download.

I was about to be enraged, but luckily the support person didn't give up. I hope this book is as good as the study guides published by Cisco Press. Along with lab equipment, packet tracer, and this study guide I should be golden for the test.

One thing I do think the seller can improve on is packaging material. Instead of sending a 5 pound book in a yellow envelope with one layer of bubble wrap, try investing in a box that will protect the books edges.

Great book Todd as usual to the point. Ebook is now available for Deluxe edition in 3 formats, pdf - ePub and kindle. When you login create a flashcard set. Then on the next page at the top right you will see a circle with an "i" in the center. Click on it and a page pops up with a link to a zip file that contains your ebooks.

About the Author
Paolo Hewitt is a journalist and author of over 20 acclaimed books spanning music, fashion and sport. He is also author of the acclaimed memoir The Looked After Kid which recounts his life as a foster child and, later on, at Burbank Children's Home. He began his writing career at Melody Maker and New Musical Express in the 1970s, has been official biographer to Oasis and The Jam, and continues to write regularly for national newspapers and magazines.
