Awesome book. I have a copy and bought this for my girlfriend, who's going through similar stuff. If you have chronic pain, well worth it. Pain stuff you've probably already heard of, but does excellent job of how to find employment to work around your medical issues.

Amazing Resource

As a Social Worker, I have worked with people who have suffered from chronic pain, and did not know what resources to offer them other than to listen to them and empathize. This book, Pain Tracking, is now the resource with which I can provide them. It gives both understanding about the reality of their pain, and something to do about it; Allowing a person empowering strategies to begin the path to manage their pain. I wish I had access to this resource years ago, but am glad it exists now, and now know how better to assist someone who suffers from chronic pain. It is practical and smart and also has light-hearted moments helping a person figure out what helps and makes their pain worse. It is inspiring and useful. It is also useful for clinicians to get a better understanding of what someone is going through who suffers from chronic pain.

This book changed my life, and for the first time in over 20 years gave me hope for continuing to live with chronic pain AND I began to create note only a more accurate understanging of what my daily life with pain was really like, but (YAAYYY!!) what things I could do to myself (my OWN solutions) each day to deal better with the challenges the pain brought me. What an empowering book this is!!!! And it isn't about anyone but you!! And the solutions are YOURS! and with the help of paintracking, it is finally possible to find what will help you, uniquely. Can't say enough about this book and the work of Deborah Barrett. It has made a dramatic change in my life. Using the beta version of the software being developed to companion the book, I can see that my over-all challenges - pain, fatique, mood.....have actually been reduced from regular 9 & 10s to regular 4 & 5s. This book is a guidebook, and will likely not lose its helpfulness over many, many, many readings. A+++
